Hotel – Le Méridien Vienna

In January 2014, my bf and I was doing our winter vacation and we stopped by Vienna. It was our first time there and we wanted to stay in a hotel that has a modern contemporary touch to it and also convenient for us. My bf found Le Méridien.

When we arrived, the reception and lift definitely looked very trendy as what we’ve read from the reviews. The staffs were friendly and helpful too. From Tripadvisor, we got to know that this is a 5 star hotel and with the price that Le Meridien was charging for a Superior Room, I do have my expectations to receive 5 star services and comfort.

We walked down a long hospital-like hallway to our room. When I entered the room, I was disappointed with our 5 star’s impression. The bed, in my opinion, was kind of small. It’s a queen size bed and I was actually expecting a king at least.

The shower was pretty cool and relaxing though I find the bathroom a little dark.

I didn’t think that 3 square meter of difference between a Superior and Deluxe room will make that much of a difference. My advise to you is that, if you intend to stay in this hotel, do pick at least a Deluxe Room. Unless you wouldn’t mind sleeping very close to each other.

Though, I must give credit to the location of this hotel. It’s definitely in a prime location where a lot of tourist attractions are just a walk away. There’s a convenience store just a throw stone from the hotel. The train station is just around the corner as well. The shopping area is also just a 10 minutes walk from this hotel. If we were to visit Vienna again, we  would like to keep our options open and probably try another hotel.
