Chinese New Year is just around the corner and if you’re looking for some beautiful floral and red print, look no further. Dior Celebrate Chinese New Year this year with some gorgeous floral prints.
TOILE DE JOUY
In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Dior has designed a new toile de Jouy (prints on fabric) motif in floral and colored red. The symbol and color represents happiness and good fortune.
This design is inspired from the classic French fabric that graced the interior of Christian Dior’s first boutique, situated at 30 Avenue Montaigne, named “Colifichets”. It was decorated by Victor Grandpierre following the advice of the artist Christian Bérard.
ON BAGS
This reinterpreted fabric appears on four House icons – the Lady Dior, Dior Book Tote and Diorama bags.
ON ACCESSORIES
The design is also to be found on a series of accessories, small leather goods and ready-to-wear pieces.
Like a precious talisman, the Diorelita bracelet in turn pays tribute to this Chinese holiday with a medal featuring a hydrangea, Number 8 and the initials “CD”. The hydrangea symbolize beauty and gratitude, while number 8 and “CD”, held a great meaning for Christian Dior, as well as bright red links.
I’m already a huge fan of their Dior Cruise 2019 Collection and I find that this is a modified or sort of an extended version. Just minus some animals from the design.
