In Fall and Winter, days are shorter and it gets dark early. If you want to catch more of Paris, do start your day early.
TAKE THE HOP-ON-HOP-OFF BUS
There’s a few companies for the hop-on-hop-off bus. After much research and taking a few myself, I realized that the Paris Open Tour Hop-On-Hop-Off company is the best. It has 4 routes and the will cover almost all the must-see in Paris.
Recently my friends and I stopped by Paris after our #girlgangtakesgreece trip. I took them on the Paris Open Tour Hop-On-Hop-Off and I bought 2 day bus pass for €38 each person. We were only able to cover the Blue and Green lines.
My advise is that if you would like to cover all the lines in 2 days, you got to start early. 2 days passes are great because on the first round, you take all the pictures that you want. After that, you can hop-off any places of interest to discover and hop back on to go to the next destination.
Do take note that in Fall and Winter, days are shorter and it gets dark early. If you want to catch more of Paris, do start your day early.
GO ON THE RIVER CRUISE
I highly recommend you to see Paris at night by going on the river cruise. You can even buy the River Seine Dinner Cruise tour and enjoy the scenery while enjoying a meal on board. I find this totally worth it. You’ll see a very different side of Paris by night and it’s just as beautiful.
WALK THE GARDEN
There’s a lot of gardens in the heart of Paris itself. You have to at least walk in there and enjoy the garden. Just sit by the fountain, enjoy the view, cup of coffee or just have an evening stroll at the garden.
Just beware of dog poo when you’re in the garden. In fact, you should be aware of dog poo when you walk in Paris itself. I had a pretty bad experience at Jardin Des Tuilerries recently. It is one of my favorite garden in Paris by the way. I didn’t looked down while I walked in this garden and stepped on dog poo! Fortunately for me, my friends had wet wipes with them. It was my lucky day.
Another one of my favorite garden is Jardin D’Acclimatation, which LV Foundation is located in this garden.
HAVE SOME MACAROONS
Paris is definitely not lacking of good food especially pastries. They’re well know for their macaroons. The two most popular ones are Pierre Hermé and Laduree.
I personally prefer the Pierre Hermé because the sweetness is just right. Recently Pierre Hermé open a store at Champs-Élysées and those pastries are to-die-for! What’s better than having some macaroons while people watch at Champs-Élysées?
SHOPPING
This is Paris. A very fashionable city. You can’t miss those shopping attractions! Especially when I’m a fashion blogger. Of course, I’m going to share some shopping tips.
Since you’re only there for 2 days, hitting the mall with almost every brand in there is the best solution. My favorites are Galeries Lafayette and Printemps. Another reason why I highly recommend shopping at these 2 malls are the ease of dealing with Tax Refunds. It’s all fully automated now at La Fayette Galleries. This process of tax refunds are much easier when it comes to getting your cash back.
If you prefer a high-end boutiques luxury shopping, do visit Rue Du Faubourg St. Honore or Avenue Montaigne. I recently walked on Avenue Montaigne and visited The House of Dior. I was mesmerized by the display of the store and how many things in this store reminds me of the legendary Christian Dior. They kept it pretty authentic.
SEE EIFFEL TOWER UP CLOSE
The best area to see and capture a picture of Eiffel Tower is from Trocadéro. Once you’re done with a picture of the beautiful Eiffel Tower, walk down to to River Seine and get a good look of the tower up, close and personal.
If this is fall or spring time, the weather would be great to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or hot wine and maybe a crépe by the river. Just enjoy the beautiful scenery and be glad that you’re in the city of light – Paris.
