Miu Miu Spring Summer 2018 collection spirit went on to a total opposite route compared to the extravagant FW17. This season, Miuccia Prada was inspired by girls freedom and simplicity. Miu Miu had always been the fun child in the Prada family. In believe this season, I can totally see this fun child comes out to play.
The mix fashion are very subtle yet luxury. The clothes encapsulated a mix of girlish and boyish, luxurious yet simple and retro but not vintage. In this season, you can see lace, denim, leather and even nightgowns can look luxurious.
What was important for me, what was really new was, for the first time, I really worked on girls, on different people and enjoying the way one dress looked different on one girl versus another one. – Miuccia Prada
Boyish Silhouettes
School boy-ish silhouettes with a mixture of knitwear, lace tops and tailored trousers. Some prints are inspired by ‘Peanuts’ cartoon, like the knitted top below.

New Denim
A mixture of denim and leather presented in forms of printed denim worn with shorts.

Vintage Leather
Retro-styled vests and jackets which looked rich and well-worn. These printed leather were inspired by the 70s prints. Those vests are slightly on the heavy side but it sat so well on one’s body.

Lace and Layering
Still on some boyish touch with layered lace silhouettes over men’s pants but so chic. Those sheer dresses in delicate embroideries and cotton collars sure scream “summer”!

Luxurious Nightgown
Nightgown coats are decorated with bows and embroideries and they’re suppose to be layered with sheer dresses. You don’t have to wait till nightfall to wear these nightgowns. Wearing it as daywear, is just as good.

I paid a visit to Miu Miu Pavilion Kuala Lumpur last week and was thrilled by the charming pieces from Spring Summer 2018 collection. Of course I am not a match to those models on the runway that presented the Miu Miu Spring Summer 2018. It was still a pleasure to be able to wear Miu Miu Spring Summer 2018 collection my way.
