Ombré is definitely here to stay. There are so many people in town talking about and making it happen. Here are a few bloggers that have adopted ombré: Aimee Song (Song of Style), Olivia Palermo, Alexa Chung, Jules (Sincerely, Jules) and so many more. Even myself had jumped into the bandwagon. Honestly, it can be a challenge to maintain an ombré hairstyle. Since I’ve done that, I’ll share 5 ways to a better and healthier ombré hair.
- Since I’m a brunette, bleaching the end of my hair was necessary, so that the brighter or darker colors are distinctive. Once my hair was bleached, it gets dry and brassy. Try to wash your hair less to minimize the dryness. If the roots of your hair gets oily the next day, like mine, try to use dry shampoo instead. I highly recommend Klorane.
- I’ve fine hair, so volume is definitely something I need. With ombré hair, too much blow drying can make my hair dry. I try to avoid using the hair dryer whenever I can. Instead, I use the cool-blast button on the hair dryer and curl the ends with a John Freida Salon Shape Hot Air Brush.
- Always apply serum or leave-in conditioner to your hair after blow-drying it. This will help with minimizing the damage. I am currently using One N Only Argan Oil.
- Once a week, I use the hair mask recommended by my hair stylist. After shampoo, I leave the mask in for about 10 minutes before washing it off. I also highly recommend Alterna Carviar Moisture Mask.
- Once every 2 weeks, I visit Scissors Empire Hair Salon to get an intensive hair treatment. I always leave with a smile and healthier hair.
