Shu Uemura
Mr Shu Uemura was a pioneer of blending eclectic global and cultural crossover. He fused Japanese sensibilities with techniques learned in Hollywood into products as part of the brand’s DNA. Out of his love for Paris and fashion, he opened a beauty boutique in St. Germain-des-Prés.
Maison Kitsuné
Glidas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, co-founders and creative directors, started Maison Kitsuné in 2002. A trip to Japan inspired them to bring their passions together around a single concept: a on-of-a-kind brand that unites fashion, music and designs. The name “Kitsuné” meaning “fox” in Japanese and a symbol of versatility, struck them as the most obvious choice.
How They Met
From Paris to Tokyo, from fashion and music to beauty, two of the world’s foremost innovators collide East and West to create a neo-classic interpretation of Shu Uemura’s art of beauty.
