Remember the post where I talked about
Hermés Silk Ball? I wore this beautiful dress made by
Justin Yap. In this post, I would like to share his story and beautiful designs. Sometimes I’m so caught up with all the international brands that I totally overlook my own country’s treasure. In fact, I’m very proud of some local designers that made it big such as Jimmy Choo (yes, he is from Malaysia) and Zang Toi.

Fall Collection 2014 |
Justin Yap might not be as huge as Jimmy Choo, but he’s definitely a raising star. His clean, understated and classic style shines a trend of its own. Silk is not an easy fabric to deal with, but he made it so perfect and beautiful. He love colors, which he played it well on his designs and made it exquisite. 7 years in the fashion industry and he’s still going strong. There’s one question I significantly remembered asking him, “Fashion is a tough industry, how did you survive after all these years?” He said “Know what you’re good at and understand your customer. I focus more on couture and custom-made pieces. Quality is very important to me because when customers are happy, they will come back for more”.
