Eurostars Berlin Hotel & Discovering Berlin

by

I was in Berlin last December and celebrated the eve of 2014. I should share my vacation with you before winter is officially over and you’ll be wondering why I’m still in winter clothing. You can check out my previous post of Berlin here, here and here.

When my bf and I were in Berlin, we stayed at Eurostars Berlin. We didn’t had a good impression of this hotel at first. Our flight arrived late evening and I guess the cab driver isn’t too familiar with the direction and dropped us off the main street. We had to drag our luggages towards the hotel. Luckily the reception was really nice and was very helpful.

The hotel is situated just off a train station so commuting is not an issue. Restaurants and kebab shacks are just a 5 minutes walk away. There’s also a Starbucks which is 5 minutes walk from the hotel and it’s great for coffee lover like me. The room is very comfortable and we had great rest every night when we were back from a day tour.

What I love most about this hotel is that the bathroom has a heater for the towel and it’s always warm including the floors. It’s cozy and warm even during a cold winter.

As for the housekeeping, it was pretty unfortunate for us to have no refills for tea and coffee in the room. Bathroom facilities such as shower gels aren’t refill as well. I can understand as it was a public holiday (new year’s eve) and the hotel might be short of staffs but it shouldn’t be an excuse for the hotel to keep up to it’s standard.

You can also read my review in Tripadvisor. My alternative hotel recommendations would be Ritz Carlton, Waldorf Astoria and Mandala. They are all at a great location and walking distance towards Berlin’s place of attraction and their standards are above average too.

Below are some of the places of interest in Berlin. Enjoy the pictures and do visit Berlin if you have a chance to. In my opinion, it’s not too busy yet there’s so much to learn from the historical point of view.

The Siegessaule memorial at the Grosser Stern roundabout

Berliner Dom
High rises at the Potsdamer Platz
Alenxanderplatz and Fernsehturm (TV Tower)
At checkpoint Charlie. Me and man with uniform 😉
I highly recommend this restaurant for steaks. It’s located just beside Eurostars Hotel and they do have a few branches in this city.
Since it was a cold day so I ordered Onion Soup
I had a Rib Eye for dinner. It was goooood!
After dinner, we went to watch the Blue Man Group. I missed the one at Las Vegas so my bf bought us tickets to watch this. We got our tickets through the hotel’s receptionist and they were really helpful.
