Mascara is my staple make-up item everyday. Some days when I’m not in the mood for eyeshadows or eyeliners, mascara is still a MUST before stepping out of my front door. My go to mascara will always be a waterproof type. Being an Asian living near to the Equator, normal = oily T-zone and dehydrated cheeks. I’m just kidding =D But I must say that many of us here falls under the category of a combination skin type. Make-up products that suits my skin will need to last 6 hours or more, with minimal shines on my forehead, nose and chin. A good mascara for me would be one that does not smudge on my under eye after a few hours of application.

Currently, I have 3 mascaras. In fact, I started with Diorshow Blackout Waterproof Mascara as I heard a lot of good reviews about them. I bought it from Sephora USA. Generally, Chinese eyelashes are not as thick and lengthy. This mascara definitely helps in terms of volume and it does not clump-up as easy. I love the brush as it combs my eyelashes smoothly and it’s not wimpy. The only downside for me is that, I start to see smudges under by eyes after 4 hours.

Along the way, I heard another friend’s recommendation on Rimmel London. They’re sold here at our drug store (Guardian). I don’t remember how much I bought it for but it was definitely at an affordable price. It sure adds volume to my eyelashes but it clumps too. That’s because the brush is a little too soft for my liking. I would need to apply it twice and then use a separate mascara brush to remove the clumps. As for the waterproof, it sure is! It stayed on my lashes and not smudge after 6 hours.

Last but not least, after trying the 2 above, I still went back to the Buxom Lash Waterproof Mascara. This is my 2nd purchase for Buxom already. I love the brush as it is short and define which is great for a Chinese lady here, who does not have a very thick pair of lashes. It claimed to be clump-free and yes, they are true to their words. As for waterproof, I swear upon it! It didn’t smudge at all even after 8 hours. Overall, It’s an awesome mascara and I would stick to this one till I find something better than Buxom. What about you?
