Rome is such a beautiful place with so much to offer. Rich with history, great people, great food and easily accessible from one place to another. I like Rome but it also saddens me to see the ruins of Rome. Was once the great empire, blessed with such great leaders, built with such strong foundation and yet all the historical places are falling into pieces.
Looking at the Colleseum and The Forum, it was once the commercial, religious, political and legal center of the city! Now the carved marble pillars and buildings are all merely standing and falling apart. Don’t you think it is such a sad thing? If only men knew that it could still be such an important thing till today, would they have kept it well till 2000 years later?
These ruins reminded me of relationships too. Given one a great partner, a relationship built with strong foundation and yet if one did not put in the effort to keep the relationship going, won’t it be ruin some day? Be blessed if you have found someone great. What would you do to keep the relationship going?
